Your agreement
These Terms of Use apply when you access the NoteLight website or use the NoteLight iOS app operated by Mars. By using NoteLight, you agree to these terms and the applicable Apple terms presented through the App Store.
The app is licensed through the App Store under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These NoteLight terms supplement that agreement for the NoteLight service. They do not reduce rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer law.
Limited license
Subject to these terms and the Apple usage rules, you receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use NoteLight on Apple devices you own or control. NoteLight and its content are licensed, not sold.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, bypass access controls, or create derivative works from NoteLight except where applicable law expressly permits it.
Member subscriptions
NoteLight offers an optional automatically renewing Member subscription. Eligible users may receive a trial as shown before purchase. While active, Member removes the daily listening limit and provides unrestricted access to all NoteLight app features. Available plans, prices, billing periods, and trial eligibility appear in the App Store purchase interface and may vary.
- Apple charges your Apple account after you confirm a purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it through your Apple account before the renewal date shown by Apple.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in Apple account settings.
- You can use Restore Purchases in NoteLight to refresh eligible App Store purchases.
- Refund requests and billing disputes are handled under Apple's processes and applicable law.
The purchase screen and App Store record provide the controlling price, billing period, trial eligibility, and renewal date.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse NoteLight or help others do so. Prohibited conduct includes:
- Interfering with the service, security, access controls, or other users.
- Attempting unauthorized access to accounts, systems, media, or infrastructure.
- Using automated methods to extract, copy, scrape, or redistribute protected content.
- Submitting unlawful, abusive, deceptive, infringing, or harmful material through feedback or support channels.
- Using NoteLight in a way that violates applicable law or third-party rights.
Music and product content
NoteLight, its visual design, software, text, graphics, and product assets are protected by intellectual property laws. Music, recordings, compositions, MIDI, artwork, and related materials may be owned by Mars or licensed from third parties.
Your access is for personal listening through NoteLight. These terms do not grant a right to extract, publicly perform, synchronize, publish, sell, or redistribute music or product content.
Available pieces and features may change as rights, product scope, and technical requirements change. NoteLight does not promise a fixed catalog size or update frequency.
Availability and changes
We may update, suspend, limit, or discontinue parts of NoteLight for maintenance, security, rights management, legal compliance, or product changes. We will aim to communicate material changes when practical and required.
NoteLight is a listening and visual experience. It does not promise music instruction, performance scoring, health benefits, uninterrupted availability, or compatibility with every device and network.
Third-party services
NoteLight relies on services provided by Apple, RevenueCat, hosting providers, and content delivery providers. Their terms and privacy practices may apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control, subject to rights that cannot be excluded by law.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using NoteLight at any time. You can use Delete Account in NoteLight to remove NoteLight product data and clear local app data. This action or deleting the app does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription.
We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a serious violation of these terms, security risk, unlawful conduct, or service discontinuation. Any action remains subject to applicable law and App Store obligations.
Disclaimers and responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, NoteLight is provided on an as-available basis. We do not guarantee that every feature, piece, network request, or visual synchronization will always be uninterrupted or error free.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability, warranties, remedies, or consumer rights where doing so would be unlawful.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to NoteLight, its providers, or legal requirements. The publication date will appear at the top of this page. Where required, material changes will be communicated before they take effect.
